A handcuffed man escaped from the back of moving police car Monday night, but said that he has no idea how he was able to do it.

According to the New York Daily News, Jarred Jackson said he recalled asking the officer to roll down the window a bit so he could get some air in the backseat of the squad car. The next thing he knew he had escaped the cruiser while it was in motion.

"I'm handcuffed, it feels like it's getting closed in so I asked her to roll down the window,” Jackson said, describing what he remembers to KXAS-TV. “I stick my head out and all I remember is my whole body going out."

Jackson cannot explain any gaps in his story because he said he was dazed after smoking bad marijuana, but authorities would sure like to get all the details about his escape.

Police caught up with him less than an hour later and found him hiding between two parked cars.

Jackson was initially arrested for breaking into his neighbor’s house. The 32-year-old claimed that at that time though he was already under the influence of the apparently-laced drug and believed he was breaking into his own home.
