This month marks the tenth year anniversary of the very quotable comedy, Mean Girls. In honor of the film’s birthday, Daniel Franzese, who played the hysterical Damian, opens up in a new interview about what really happened behind the scenes.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Franzese talks about the fun times he had with his fellow actors, what his favorite quotes are and that James Franco was originally considered to play Cady’s love interest, Aaron Samuels.

That’s right. Before Jonathan Bennett played the handsome jock, another actor played Samuels – who Franzese refuses to name - but was fired after their table reading. But before that happened and before Bennett joined the cast, Franzese said, “James Franco was considered for the role of Aaron Samuels. I thought that was so cool – Bennett was great but that would’ve been cool.”

Recently, Lindsay Lohan posted a photo to her Instagram showing off a small reunion posing with fellow characters, “Kevin G.” and “Damian.” This sparked rumors that the cast was going to appear in a sequel, which ultimately surfaced untrue.

However, we all want to know what Damian would be doing ten years after graduation from high school and Franzese had a say.

“There’s actually a deleted scene from Mean Girls - the original ending shows what happened to Damian after [junior year], and he was going to audition for American Idol. Simon Cowell was going to call him chubby and then he was going to run up on the stage and punch him.”

Although it was never recorded, this scene along with another alternative ending was in talks to be filmed but cut in the end.
