Ed Sheeran, who is known for his single "The A Team" performed earlier this week for Triona Priestley and made her final wish come true.

Pristley was a Sheeran fan who had been battling cystic fibrosis. Sheeran called the teenager and sang her favorite song to her over the phone, following that phone call, Pristley passed away.

The Independent broke this story, explaining that Pristley brother started a social media campaign, using the hashtag #SongForTri, with the hopes that Sheeran would sing his sister her favorite song "Little Bird." The hashtag was trending globally on Sunday.

Pristley's brother spoke to the Independent and said that Sheeran sang her to sleep. "Triona slipped into a sleep as Ed was singing to her and passed away shortly afterwards, Ed Sheeran sang her to sleep," said Colm, Priestley's brother.

Colm also thanked everyone for their support and expressed that he was so proud of how hard she fought cystic fibrosis. "Everyone loved Triona so much and she knew that."

Billboard added that following her passing Sheeran took to his Twitter account to express his condolences.
