Despite the deadly avalanche that claimed the lives of 12 Nepalese guides, the Cross Creek Pictures and Walden Media project Everest will continue as planned as everyone there fine.

People involved in the Mount Everest film were at base camp when the avalanche occurred, reports Variety. The nine-person second unit crew who have been acclimating will remain at the Nepalese mountain.

And as scheduled, they will begin climbing up to the summit for filming in early May. Next month is when the weather conditions are best for climbing Everest.

Cross Creek co-founder Tyler Thompson said, "We just got word that everyone is fine and we are looking to set up some kind of donation to help out some of the affected (Nepalese) families."

Four people caught in the avalanche remain missing and the fate of an NBC special in the air. Like the film crew, the NBC News and Discovery team are also fine and safe.

The two are putting together a live special which will have Joby Ogwyn jumping from the summit in Everest in a wingsuit.

Everest is set for a Sept. 18, 2015 theatrical release. Jake Gyllenhaal, Josh Brolin, Josh Hawkes and Emily Watson star, while Baltasar Kormakur was tapped to direct.
