The family of a Texas teenager who was gunned down by his girlfriend’s father after sneaking into her bedroom, want her to be charged for her alleged role in his death.

According to the KHOU, the girl’s father woke up and caught Johran McCormick hiding in his daughter’s bedroom last month. When the father wanted answers his daughter allegedly claimed that she did not know him.

Authorities said that the father thought he may have been faced with an intruder and when the 17-year-old dropped his hands, he fired a shot.

The teen was struck in the head and died at the scene.

The girl’s father has not faced any charges.

The New York Daily News noted that McCormick’s mother hopes a grand jury will charge the father with her son’s death and also his daughter for denying that she knew him.

Supporters are urging the Houston District Attorney to file a motion against the girl for accessory to murder or involuntary manslaughter.
