Lawyers claim that the FBI tried to recruit Boston Marathon bomber Dzokhar Tsarnaev’s brother to be an informant on Chechen and Muslim communities in Boston.

According to CNN, the government denies the allegation on trying to recruit Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

RT reports that the FBI declined to comment on the accusation, cite a statement made last month:

“The government has no evidence that Tamerlan Tsarnaev was solicited by the government to be an informant,” the FBI said.

Lawyers believe that the FBI approached Tamerlan Tsarnaev, claiming that they have family and other sources who can attest to multiple conversations he had with the FBI.

His younger brother, Dzokhar Tsarnaev, will be tried on November 3. He is facing 30 federal counts after the April 15 bombing, including use of a weapon of mass destruction. Three died and over 250 were injured; he could be facing the death penalty.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev was shot and killed during the manhunt that followed the Boston Marathon bombing.
