Another suspect has been charged in the mob beating of a Detroit man, making five individuals now charged for the crime.

Latrez Cummings, 19, was arrested for assault with intent to murder and assault with intent to do great bodily harm on Thursday, according to CNN. The other suspects are Bruce Edward Wimbush Jr., 17, Wonzey Saffold, 30, James Deontae Davis, 24, and an unnamed 16-year-old.

The attack was on 54-year-old Steven Utash. Utash was mobbed after he accidentally hit a 10-year-old who walked onto the road. He had immediately stopped to help the boy when about a dozen people “severely beat” Utash with their “fists and feet.”

The Detroit News reports that Detroit Police Chief James Craig stated there will likely be more arrests soon.

“We’re working hard to identify all the suspects, but we don’t know the total number, and we may never know,” Craig said.

The city, as a result, has passed a new ordinance in a 9-0 vote Tuesday that will tighten the licensing requirements at gas stations. There will now be indoor and outdoor digital surveillance cameras viewing stations.

Three of the suspects were arraigned Tuesday and are currently in jail.
