The weather crisis in Florida and Alabama continues today. On Wednesday, The Florida Panhandle and Alabama Gulf Coast have been hit with flooding.

On Tuesday, thunderstorms hit Alabama, Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle, according to Reuters. Fire rescue crews are coping with issues of road flooding in Pensacola.

Some calls have gone unanswered. "It's gotten to the point where we can't send EMS and fire rescue crews out on some 911 calls because they can't get there," Escambia County spokesman Bill Pearson said, according to the Associated Press. "We've had people whose homes are flooding and they've had to climb up to the attic."

Some people left their flooded cars. Authorities have reported a fatality as one woman died after she got into her car and drove it into high water.

Gov. Rick Scott has declared a state of emergency for 26 counties. As much as 15 to 20 inches had fallen in Pensacola in a 24-hour period, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Phil Grigsby in New Orleans. Aerial rescues are planned, according to Grigsby, and the county has already moved boats and jet skis from the beaches to the streets.
