A father was caught on videotape kicking his 6-year-old son down a skateboard ramp at Kona Skate Park in Arlington, Florida on Friday.

According to the Kansas City Star, a bystander captured video of Marcus Crossland kicking his young son down the half pipe.

The video showed that the child looked to be too frightened to go down the ramp, so his father, in apparent frustration, actually kicked him down.

The child was not hurt, but did cry out in fear after his father pushed him.

A teen at Kona Park who saw what happened, confronted Crossland about what he did. The father told him he did it because his son “needs to learn.”

After the video went viral, skate park operator, Martin Ramos said that he asked Crossland, who is a regular at the park, not to return for a while.

First Coast News reported that the Florida Department of Children and Families is investigating the incident.

"We do not consider this to be appropriate behavior," said DCF spokesman John Harrell.
