The soundtrack to Frozen has now tied Adele's 21 for the most weeks spent at the top spot on the Billboard charts. This is now the eight week that Frozen has spent in the No. 1 position on the charts.

Billboard reported that since the charts started using SoundScan and point of sale data back in 1991, Frozen is only one of twenty albums to spend least eight weeks in the top position on the charts.

The soundtrack which features the hit single "Let It Go" has now sold over 1.8 million copies and most of those have been sold in 2014. Making the Disney soundtrack the best selling album of 2014 with Beyonce's self titled release coming in second place.

Frozen as recently became the highest grossing animated feature film of all time. Passing classics like The Lion King, Toy Story 3 and Shrek, Washington Post reported. The feature film has grossed over $1.072 billion since it was released. The film also set records when it was released on home video.

Shakira and Johnny Cash round out the top three on the album charts this week for the Billboard top 200.
