Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will collaborate with Fox to write, produce and direct a film adaptation of the novel Dirty White Boys.

This is the first film that Benioff and Weiss have signed on to direct together, Deadline reported. This news follows the announcement that Game of Thrones has been renewed by HBO for two more seasons. The two showrunners said that they plan on making Dirty White Boys when they get the chance, since they will continue to work on Game of Thrones.

First published in 1995, Stephen Hunter’s novel Dirty White Boys centers on three escaped convicts on the run from a lone policeman, according to Entertainment Weekly. Weiss told Deadline that the novel gripped him immediately.

“It does grab you, the first line, and what keeps you is that the characters are so well drawn, really charismatic and awful people, so flawed,” Weiss said.

Collider noted that Fox picked up the rights to Dirty White Boys soon after it first published.

The fourth season of Game of Thrones premiered last Sunday and the next episode, titled “The Lion and the Rose,” will air this Sunday.
