It's not often that a band is created with the goal of creating a musical atmosphere that is targeted at children. Alfonso Soto created Geeh, The Band in order to be a positive musical role model for his young children. Now the band is releasing another full length album, Fierce.
Soto created the group when his younger daughters were singing along with music that was popular on the radio, but the lyrics were not meant for children of that age. This launched his virtual musical career.
Geeh is a unique band for a few reasons but the main one is that the seven members of the group are virtual. The backstory behind the group is that the characters are known as Meaps and they first appeared on a garlic-shaped planet which is known as Premmuv.
Each member of the band has a one of a kind personality and they even have jobs. Soto has created an entire backstory and storyline with this kid friendly virtual group.
When it comes to the music, it is geared towards children and has a very strong pop vibe that would appeal to that age group but for parents that are listening along, the music is not hard on the ears. The lyrics are fun, the melody is light and the chorus is catchy.
The instruments that are featured on the album, including strong guitars and pianos, are all rooted in pop music but do combine well and help to make the songs feel more modern, compared to an average children album.
Stand out tracks on the Fierce include, "Together," "Live in this Moment," "Landing a Star."
