The first lady got a little more than she expected on Thursday while hosting a ceremony for Take Our Daughters and Sons To Work Day at the White House.
During a question-and-answer session with Michelle Obama, a young girl hopped forward as the first lady attempted to hand her the mike while the girl handed her a piece of paper. According to The Associated Press, the girl passed Obama her father's resume.
The first lady was surprised and then noted to others that the young girl was "doing something for her dad," before she gave her a hug.
USA Today reports the girl quietly said, "My dad's been out of a job for three years and I wanted to give you his resume."
Today says that though the White House declined to comment on the situation, the 10-year-old girl's name was Charlotte Bell, according to an AP photographer at the event.
The AP notes that when the session was over, Obama was seen leaving with the resume still clutched in her hand.
