The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is underway for its first weekend of 2014.

There were some big names to grace the main stage on Friday, including Ellie Goulding and Outkast. One of the more understated performances of the night, however, was Girl Talk.

There may not have been as much stir regarding Girl Talk, because Gregg Michael Gillis is no stranger to Coachella Fest and he is not a legendary rap duo like Andre 3000 and Big Boi. However, his main stage debut was arguably one of the top performances of the day.

According to Billboard.com Gregg Gillis brought out guest performers such as Busta Rhymes, Too Short, and Juicy J. E-40 also made an appearance, as did confetti, lit up balloons, and toilet paper, that flew overhead the crowd.

Radio.com reports that the guest performers were not the only ones to join Gregg Gillis on stage. He had some lucky festival goers dancing by his side through his entire set, which surely kept the crowd going even though the jumbotrons had technical difficulties throughout. Girl Talk included songs from multiple decades, and even played the mash-up of "Paper Planes" by M.I.A with "Royals" by Lorde.

Lorde also made the lineup and will be performing on Saturday at 7:55pm.
