Google Glass was made available to the general public for the first time on Tuesday and since then, units have been selling briskly. In fact, one of the five color options have already sold out.
Google made the device available on Tuesday only. Previously, you had to be a member of the “explorer” beta program before you could buy it. But on Tuesday, Google allowed the public to buy the Google Glass and then join the program. Each device costs $1500.
By 3 p.m., Google said that it was happy to see so many people signing up to join and that the cotton/white color option already sold out. The other colors are charcoal, tangerine, shale and sky. Other options include different frames and clip-on sunglasses.
A Google spokesperson told Mashable that the sale may go on more than a day. However, in another blog post, Google did say that all current explorer program slots are filled.
Google Glass is currently only available for U.S. residents.
