The musical group Pussy Riot, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alekhina, have often been in the spotlight for speaking out against oppressive rule by the Russian government and have been arrested on multiple occasions. Now the group is making headlines for a recent picture they took with Hilary Clinton.

The meeting took place on Friday when the band and Clinton attended the Women in the World Summit in New York.

Clinton posed with Tolokonnikova and Tolokonnikova and tweeted out the photo to her over 1 million Twitter followers, APreported.

Her tweet read: "Great to meet the strong & brave young women from (hash)PussyRiot, who refuse to let their voices be silenced in (hash)Russia."

Along with speaking out against Russian rule, the ladies have also made headlines for speaking out against the Winter Olympics in Sochi. This resulted in the ladies being briefly detained.

CNN added that the tweet has been retweeted 9,000 times and over 10,000 "favorites."
