In a new twist on the life of a commercial, Nabisco’s Honey Maid brand responded to the anti-gay backlash started by one commercial with another commercial.

Honey Maid recently launched a series of videos on YouTube, including a commercial called “This Is Wholesome,” featuring a gay couple and their son. The couple also got a full, minute and a half video, in which the couple and their son talk about their life and being parents.

Then, like the interracial Cheerios commercial and the Coca-Cola Super Bowl spot, the commercial drew plenty of complaints on YouTube and social networks. Some people did not like the idea of Honey Maid featuring a happy gay couple.

In response, Honey Maid put together a new commercial, simply called “Love.” In it, they show two artists taking out printed versions of the negative comments and putting them together to spell out the word “Love.”

The commercial says that the artists are “proving that only one thing matters when it comes to family... LOVE.”

That video has now scored over 500,000 views since it was posted Thursday.
