Anna Trujillo was been convicted of stabbing her 59-year-old boyfriend Alf Stefan Andersson with the heel of her shoe at least 25 times, causing him to bleed to death on the floor of his condo last June.

The NY Daily News reports that the $1500 stiletto shoe used to commit the crime was purchased for Trujillo by Andersson. It was presented to the jury last week as evidence, still covered in dried blood and hair.

According to ABC News, Trujillo's attorney argued that she had attacked her boyfriend in self-defense. Trujillo showed little emotion during the reading of the verdict.

The jury will begin hearing evidence in the trial's punishment phase next Wednesday.

The prosecution painted Trujillo as out of control on the night of the crime, citing testimony from a cab driver who said she was irate and yelling while he drove the couple home. They also pointed out that Trujillo did not sustain any injuries from the alleged attack.

Trujillo, however, says Andersson became enraged believing she might leave him and she defended herself with the only weapon she had on hand--her shoe. She allegedly didn't realize what she had done until it was too late, and said she tried to perform CPR to revive him.
