FX's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has been renewed for another two seasons. The new seasons will run until 2017. Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton will all be returning for season 11 and 12.
FX also announced that they would be picking up a series that will star Tracy Morgan. The networked ordered a straight-to-series pick up for the comedy, The Hollywood Reporter explained.
FX president of original programming Nick Grad spoke about how important it was to coninute to invest in the futures of McElhenney, Day and Howerton. "Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton are three of the most talented comedy writers and producers in our business, not to mention very gifted actors," said Grad.
Grad also explained that the group has earned one of the best overall deals in TV. The gang has come a long way from shooting the pilot 10 years ago for $200 and a few pizzas.
Philly.com reported that with this two season renewal, Always Sunny will be the longest running live-action comedy in cable TV history.
