North Carolina forward James McAdoo announced Thursday that he will not be returning for his senior season. He will be entering the NBA draft.

According to USA Today, McAdoo had flirted with the idea of going pro after his freshman and sophomore seasons. Even though he will enter the draft this year, McAdoo plans to finish his degree in history.

McAdoo averaged 14.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game for the Tar Heels this season. He helped the Tar Heels win 12 games in a row in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Tar Heels eventually fell to Iowa State in the round of 32 in the NCAA tournament though. He was named to the all-ACC second team for his performance.

McAdoo was considered a potential lottery pick when he came to North Carolina, but he has slid down draft boards over the past couple of years as reported by ESPN. He is now expected to be drafted late in the first round or early in the second round.
