Janelle Monáe has announced that she will be playing a tour in Australia and will be co-headlining with Kimbra for the five-city tour that is going to kick off next month. The tour will be taking place over Australia and New Zealand.

Billboard reported that the "Golden Electric Tour" will be starting in May 16th in Perth and will be ending in Melbourne on May 26th.

The tour will also be making stops in Brisbane, Auckland and Sydney. Tickets go on sale Thursday for the tour.

This will be the first time that Monáe has performed in New Zealand, which is the homeland of Kimbra.

Pitchfork added that Monáe is also making headlines with her performance last weekend at Coachella. Outkast played a longer set and thanked the audience for attending closing the show saying, "I know it's kind of weird, 20 years later n' shit.... but thank y'all for coming."
