The Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice penned musical about the final days of the Messiah is embarking on a North American tour with some major music veterans on the cast.

The news was announced on ABC's Good Morning America that the tour will begin in New Orleans on June 9. John "Johnny Rotten" Lydon of legendary punk band The Sex Pistols will play King Herod, along with 'NSYNC's JC Chasez as Pontius Pilate, Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child as Mary Magdalene, and Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd as Judas Iscariot. The title role was won in the U.K. competition show Superstar by Ben Forster.
According to the show's website the tour will continue from New Orleans to Toronto, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles before ending in Philadelphia in August.
The original 1971 production received 5 Tony Award nominations and gave way to a movie adaptation in 1973. The musical was last seen on Broadway in 2012.
