Johnny Cash has taken over the top spot on the Billboard country album charts with the releases of Out Among the Stars. This is the second time Cash has topped the charts since his death back in 2003. His album American V: A Hundred Highways took over the top spot back in July of 2006.

Billboard reported that this is the 10th No. 1 album for Cash and since first chart topping debut in almost eight years.

Out Among the Stars is a collection on music that was recorded back in the 80s by legendary Nashville studio man Billy Sherrill for Columbia Records. These singles had not ever been released until now.

The album sold 54,000 copies and also took the third position on the overall Billboard album charts.

Radio.com reported that this record does feature more debuts with wife, June Carter Cash along with guest appearances from Waylon Jennings, Marty Stuart, Jerry Kennedy, Pete Drake, Hargus “Pig” Robbins and Henry Strzelecki.
