Judas Priest announced on Monday that the band would be releasing their first studio album since 2008's Nostradamus.
The band made the announcement on their website, noting that it would be called Redeemer of Souls and would released on July 14 in the UK and the following day in the United States. It's a worldwide release, so some countries will get it as early as July 11 and as late as five days later.
According to The Guardian, the band has said that the new album will be something longtime fans can enjoy. Guitarist Glenn Tipton said, "Sometimes in the past we may have come under fire for being too adventurous musically - so we listened." Tipton added, "From start to finish, Redeemer of Souls is 18 songs of pure classic-Priest metal."
Redeemer of Souls will also be the first Judas Priest album without founding member KK Downing on guitars, as he was replaced in 2011 by Richie Faulkner. They released their first album, Rocka Rolla nearly 40 years ago.
