Jude Law has signed on to the film Genuis. Law will be taking the place of Michael Fassbender in the upcoming feature which also stars Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman.

The indie drama will be directed by Michael Grandage, Variety reported. The film will tell the story of A. Scott Berg’s biography Max Perkins: Editor of Genius. The novel describes the real-life relationship between Thomas Wolfe, who is known in many literary circles and editor Max Perkins. Wolfe will be played by Law and Perkins will be played by Firth. It has not yet been announced which role Kidman would be playing in the film.

Grandage will be making his feature film debut with Genuis, which he is also producing along with James Bierman.

Law is replacing Fassbender who was signed on to play Wolfe when the movie was announced at the American Film Market back in 2012.

Indie Wire added that the movie will go into pre-production in August and shooting in October. No release date has yet to be announced for the film.
