KFC’s latest marketing campaign has challenged the years-old tradition of corsages at prom. The fried chicken company is now offering up a fried chicken corsage, but if you want one then act quick – they’re only offering 100.
KFC is offering a KFC Chicken Corsage package, which includes a standard corsage with a $5 giftcard to the fast food restaurant to buy a drumstick of your choice: Original, Extra Crispy or Kentucky Grilled Chicken.
The commercial for the corsage shows a young man leaning in for a kiss during a slow dance with his date, and she leans in as well but for a bite of her chicken.
NBC News reports the corsage kit will be sent from a florist in Louisville, Ky.
The chicken corsage is $20. KFC took to Twitter to promote it, writing on April 9, “Prom is the best night of your high school life. Don’t end the night hungry.”
Students from all over the country have been tweeting their photos of asking their dates to the prom using the chicken corsage with the hashtag #putawingonit.
