The married congressman, who was caught on tape kissing someone else's wife is now being pressured to resign by members of his own party.

Louisiana Congressman Vince McAllister is facing calls for his resignation from those mostly in his state's legislature. Gov. Bobby Jindal has asked for him to resign, reports CNN. "Congressman McAllister's behavior is an embarrassment and he should resign."

Jindal added, "He says he wants privacy to work on his issues with his family. The best way to get privacy and work on putting his family back together is to resign from Congress."

Louisiana GOP chair Roger F. Villere, Jr. also has released a statement saying the McAllister should step down immediately. The GOP chair said in the statement that the congressman's actions were "unbecoming a member of Congress" and McAllister has "embarrassed" the Republican party and others with his actions.

U.S. House Speaker John Boehner didn't come out and ask for McAllister to resign, but did note that the newcomer to Congress "has a decision to make."

According to The Associated Press, after news of the tape coming out hit the front pages of news websites everywhere, a spokeswoman, Jennifer Dunagin, said the congressman wouldn't be seeking an FBI investigation over the leaking of a tape "filmed in a leased federal office space."
