A man in Florida, who has been accused of killing his son over an Xbox game, is facing new charges.
According to the New York Daily News, authorities have said that Cody Wygant allegedly smothered his 16-month-old son because the child was distracting him from playing a video game. Now, Wygant is facing new charges for allegedly neglecting a newborn found in his home.
WFLA reported that the 24-year-old is facing charges of child neglect causing great bodily harm to a 3-month-old female infant also living at the residence. The baby was in serious need of medical attention and taken to a nearby hospital. She allegedly had a yeast infection that covered most of her body and was suffering from flat head syndrome.
In addition to the disturbing details, police said that the house was infested with bugs.
Two woman, Geneva DuFour and her daughter, Jessika, who also lived at the home, have been arrested in connection with the incident and booked on the same felony charges as Wygant.
The three are being held on bail ranging from $30,000 - $100,000.
The infant has since been released from the hospital and placed in foster care.
