A Texas man is being hailed as a hero after he caught a baby that was dropped from a window during a fire.

According to The New York Daily News, Tori Phillips of Dallas, TX was one of many people who lost their homes during a four-alarm. In the midst of chaos, while wearing Superman hooded sweatshirt, Philips leapt into action and saved a baby who was thrown from a window during the frightening fire.

"I'd seen they needed help and they were scared to come down with their baby and I was like I'm right here, I'll catch 'em so that's what I did and then another dude helped get his wife down and then he jumped down and got them to safety,” Phillips said.

According to NBCDFW, resident Regina Whitaker was aiding people inside the building as best she could to get out and saw the family who had to drop their baby.

“We were just trying to get as many people out as we can from here and in the back. There were people with a baby. They had to drop a baby down,” Whitaker said.

The fire burned out dozens of apartment units and several families are displaced. Two people, one whom is a firefighter, were sent to the hospital.

Despite losing everything in this fire, Phillips is proud that he was able to help the baby he caught and feels catching that child was more momentous than losing his belongings.
