A man returned to a Salt Lake City, Utah restaurant to pay for a meal he skipped out on more than 70 years ago.
According to KSL, a woman walked into the Lamb’s Grill on Tuesday and told the waitress that her father dined-and-dashed there in 1941.
Apparently the guilt was really weighing on her father so much so that he was still too embarrassed to enter the establishment so he waited in the car while his daughter explained his story.
The woman revealed that he and his friend ate there when they were 10-years-old and when they couldn’t cover the cost of their meals, they ran out of the restaurant without paying.
The Metro noted that the woman handed the waitress $5 as repayment for the $1 dollar meal her father ran out on and apologized.
The cash was handed over to grill owner Francis Liong, who said that he'd be sending it to the establishment's previous proprietors. He also said that the man is welcome back anytime as long as he doesn’t dash out again.
