A pastor and founder of the Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale admitted to cheating on his wife and has resigned.

According to WPLG, senior pastor Bob Coy confessed to leaders on Wednesday that he had an affair and resigned the following day.

The Daily Mail noted that church elders said that the 58-year-old gave his resignation “after confessing to a moral failing in his life which disqualifies him from continuing his leadership role.”

Radio, television and other media where Coy’s Active Word ministry can be found have been suspended.

The church said that Franklin Graham, the son of televangelist, will lead the Easter Service on FAU’s campus in Coy’s place.

The popular Evangelical megchurch has over 20,000 members in its congregation and 1,000 employees. In addition to the main campus, the church has nine regional campus located in Florida. It is affiliated with the Calvary Chapel movement.

Coy founded the church with his wife in 1985, the couple has two children together.
