Two Michigan men were sentenced to decades behind bars for the imprisonment and torture of two women.
According to the Associated Press, Marquette County judge Jennifer Mazzuchi sentenced Jason Sadowski to 40-80 years in prison and Charles Cope to 25-40 years in prison for the crimes.
Both men were found guilty of two counts of torture and two counts of unlawful imprisonment of the women in a martial arts studio.
Prosecutors said that on July of 2013, the two woman met the 44-year-old Sadowski at a bar and agreed to go back to his place to smoke marijuana and learn about martial arts. He then became furious that the women stole $4 from his wallet and that is when the torture began.
One of the victims testified that he tied them to posts with duct tape and punched, kicked and attempted to strangle them. Cope was said to have assisted in the beatings.
The Mining Journal News reported that one victim has since died of an overdose, however, the other spoke to Sadowski directly in court and said that she "found joy in his tears."
“I don’t forgive you and I hope you hurt,” she added.
