The wildly popular 1993 hit movie Mrs. Doubtfire is making a comeback. Robin Williams has signed on for a shot at a sequel 20 years later.

Chris Columbus is also expected to be involved with the sequel while David Berenbaum, screenwriter of Elf, works on the script.

When it originally premiered, the movie reeled in over $441 million in ticket sales, won an Academy Award for best makeup and Robin Williams won a Golden Globe for best Actor, according to Fox News.

A few years ago there was talk of a sequel but it fell through—presumably because Williams was not yet on board.

Even with Williams in the picture, Mara Wilson doesn’t support the sequel. Wilson, who played Natalie Hillar, the youngest daughter, said "Sequels generally suck unless they were planned as part of a trilogy or series. I think 'Doubtfire' ended where it needed to end," reports The San Jose Mercury News.

The film was adapted from the 1987 novel, Madame Doubtfire and for those who are unaware, is centered around a divorced father who takes on a Scottish nanny persona by dressing in drag to spend lots more time with his children.

Further details and a release date are still unknown.
