The 20th anniversary of the Nirvana frontman's death fell on Saturday, April 5th. Kurt Cobain's strong presence in the music community influenced artists both new and old--there were even tributes to the 80s grunge singer during concerts of both St. Vincent and Muse.
St. Vincent decided to pay tribute during her Saturday night concert at Chicago's rivera. For those who follow Annie Clark's career, she is no stranger to belting out a cover or two in tribute to her favorite artists, reports Spin. She covered the 1991 hit, "Lithium," beautifully hitting every note, completely a wonderful rendition of the song, according to Rolling Stone.
Countries away, Muse gave a heavier performance of the "Lithium" as well, a popular hit off of the album. Nevermind. During their set at Lollapalooza in Sao Paul, Brazil, Muse rocked the tribute so hard, that it sparked a gigantic crowd sing-a-long.
"Someone great died 20 years ago. This next song is for Kurt Cobain," frontman Matthew Bellamy said before beginning the tribute.
