Both Muse and St. Vincent covered the Nirvana classic in remembrance of Kurt Cobain on the 20th anniversary of his death on April 5.
Muse frontman Matt Bellamy introduced their performance of the song by saying "Someone great died 20 years ago. This next song is for Kurt Cobain." The band was playing in Lollapalooza Brazil in São Paulo.
St. Vincent was at The Riviera Theatre in Chicago for her Digital Witness Tour when she performed "Lithium," which appeared on Nirvana's legendary 1991 album Nevermind.
Of course, the two artists weren't alone in memorializing the tragic event. Cobain's widow and Hole frontwoman Courtney Love tweeted about it and discussed it with The Telegraph. She said that it is harder for her and Cobain's daughter Frances Bean, who doesn't remember her father at all.
This is the day of the year I dread.... God bless rest in peace my love

Love will be in attendance when Nirvana is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this Thursday. The Hall of Fame's website calls Cobain "the voice and conscience of an alternative-rock nation."
