Naya Rivera, who plays Santana Lopez on Glee, was recently reported to be fired from the show completely, but sources have come forward that this statement is false.
E! News exclusively learned that Rivera’s character was originally planned to take part in the season five finale, airing May 13, but she has since been written out.
While some have speculated this has to do with tension between Rivera and costar Lea Michele, sources confirmed this is not true.
"[Naya] isn't fired and her not being in the finale has nothing to do with Lea," one source who works on Glee said. "I don't know where these stories are coming from, but they are not true."
Popwrapped was the first source to confirm that Rivera was not going to appear in season six of Glee.
However, it has not yet been decided whether Riverara will return for next season, and the full cast won’t be decided until the end of June.
"We love Naya and want only the best for her," another source said. "Hopefully we can work it out."
