The New York Police Department reports that four and dead and one is injured after officials pulled a car out of a creek in New York City.

Two men and two women were pronounced dead while in the hospitals, but the lone survivor is reported to be in stable condition according to the Associated Press. The survivor was driving the vehicle and is currently being held at Elmhurst Hospital Center.

Police are still investigating what happened at the creek, which is on a dead-end road in Astoria, saying that it was unclear upon their arrival to the scene. The individuals in the car had to be pulled out by rescue divers, as it was submerged in the water for over a half hour.

The New York Daily News reports that the 20-year-old driver was actually able to get out of the car and swim to shore. He then called 911 for help. The group had been driving home from a party.
