Two famous electronic music festivals that had been scheduled over the 4th of July weekend in Detroit have been cancelled.

The festival, often referred to as DEMF, Detroit Electronic Music Festival, was going to take place at the city's Campus Martius Park on July 4th and 6th, Billboard reported.

Also scheduled was the Federation of Electronic Music Technology (FEMT), took take place at Ford Field, has also been cancelled.

An official statement regarding the cancellation was posted on DEMF's website. Many reasons were provided for the cancellation including road construction and rail service being delayed. The site explained that, "A number of exciting festival developments that require more time to ensure their proper presentation."

For everyone who bought tickets to the festival they will be offered a refund or the opportunity to exchange them for tickets to the 2015 festival which is already scheduled for July 3-5 2015.

Representatives for the festival explained the reason behind already announcing the dates for 2015, "A special gift from the festival out of our sincere appreciation for your special commitment to the successful launch of this incredible production...We look forward to dancing with you and the rest of the planet July 4th weekend 2015 in Detroit."
