The third Hobbit movie's title, There and back again, will be no more as director changes it to The Battle of the Five Armies.
According to The Wall Street Journal, director Peter Jackson of The Hobbit trilogy will be changing the title from The Hobbit: There and Back again, to The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Jackson explained that he wanted a title appropriate for the actions and feeling of the movie. Today he confirmed the title change on his Facebook Page as well as explaining his reasoning:
"When we did the premiere trip late last year, I had a quiet conversation with the studio about the idea of revisiting the title," Jackson wrote. "We decided to keep an open mind until a cut of the film was ready to look at. We reached that point last week, and after viewing the movie, we all agreed there is now one title that feels completely appropriate."
Although the title was abandoned for this movie, he says to keep an eye out because it could just be the title of the box set:
"As Professor Tolkien intended, There and Back Again encompasses Bilbo’s entire adventure, so don’t be surprised if you see it used on a future box-set of all three movies."
The final movie of the trilogy is set to release December 17, 2014 according to The Hollywood Reporter. Many J.R.R. Tolkien fans cannot wait.
