Looks like Peter Mayhew will suit up as Chewbacca in a galaxy far, far away once more.

Mayhew is known for playing Han Solo’s number two Wookiee in the Star Wars trilogy and will get to reprise his roll for Lucasfilm and Disney’s Star Wars: Episode VII, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

When Mayhew cancelled his plans to appear at the Comicpalooza convention in Texas because of “filming” reasons, speculations started to fly that he might be claim his role as Chewbacca. At the beginning of the month, Alan Horn, Disney Studios chairman, confirmed that the film has begun filming and the cast was decided on, according to Rolling Stone.

There has been little information revealed about cast decisions for the film directed by J.J. Abrams—originally to be directed by Michael Arndt. The United States, U.K., as well as the Internet, all held casting calls—rumors are spreading that Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie States will all claim their rightful roles as Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. What is certain, is that R2-D2 is up and running, ready to take on Episode VII.

During the same time as the movie release, Marvel comics is said to begin publishing on new Star Wars themed graphic novels and comic books. The film will premiere in theatres on December 18th, 2015.
