Following the release of his latest single, "FALLINLOVE2NITE," Prince has announced that he will be moving all of his publishing in house. His catalog will be moving to NPG Music Publishing, which means Prince owns the rights himself.
In a release that hit the web earlier today, Prince explained that he would have some help from some of the biggest names in the industry as he makes the transition to being his own publisher, The Hollywood Reporter added.
The last publisher that was working with Prince was with Universal Music but the singer left Universal a few years ago. When Prince released his latest single, "FALLINLOVE2NITE," on Epic Label, which is managed by L.A. Reid.
ShowBiz411 reported that the release also said that NCG Publishing was looking for placement for some of Prince's most-loved songs. These songs could now be appearing in TV ads, video games and films.
This is the first time in 20 years that Prince's music has been under an independent publisher.
