The ACM awards on Sunday honored some of country music’s finest. In a statement released today, country music star Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts admits to lip-synching during the awards.

According to the Daily Mail, Rascal Flatts released a statement on Tuesday, saying, “After having performed several shows earlier in the week, Gary lost his voice. So, instead of cancelling our commitment to the show we made a last minute decision to lip-sync. We’ve never done it before and obviously not very good at it, we look forward to signing live in the new future.”

LeVox is an American singer and songwriter who is a member of Rascal Flatts, a trio that includes LeVox, Jay DeMarcus, Joe Don Rooney. Their albums include Feels Like Today, Still Feels Good, and the most recent effort, Rewind.

Rascal Flatts will officially continue to tour on Saturday in Laughlin, Nev. The new album, Rewind, is set to be released on May 13. The Rewind Tour begins on May 16, according to Taste of Country.
