Fans have patiently waited to hear possible news of a sequel to “The Goonies,” since the eighties—that’s dedication. Richard Donner has informed the public of a definite sequel and that the wait is finally up!

Donner told TMZ on April 5th, that he plans to bring the original cast back for a sequel. He dropped the bomb while signing autographs in Beverly Hills, giving fans and explosion of shocking information.

Many inquired if the main stars would return for the second movie, Donner said, "Hopefully all of them."

Details of the plot are still unknown, but hopefully the 1986 cast of Corey Feldman, Josh Brolin, Sean Astin, Jeff Cohen, Martha Plimpton, Kerri Green, and Jonathan Ke Quan can manage to come back together, giving fans the ultimate sequel. The next question would be if they would come back and play the same characters after 28 years, or if they would make cameos instead.

Due to the unfortunate passing of John Matusak, Anne Ramsey, and Lupe Ontiveros, Sloth, Mama Fratelli, and Rosalita won't be able to make a comeback, reports the Examiner.
