The Iron Man star invited a group of children to watch the latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with him on its opening day, which coincided with his 49th birthday.
He announced his plan in an interview with Variety last month. He told the magazine that he is a fan of his Avengers co-star and Captain America himself Chris Evans. He even said his own son "believes that Captain America is real."
On Friday Downey said on Facebook that he was "Gonna wrangle about twenty kids to watch it with and partaaaaaaaaaaaaay Marvel-style!!!" Ellen DeGeneres replied that she was on her way but she must have missed picture time. Later Downey posted a photo of himself with his arms spread, thumbs up and a lot of smiling faces behind him, but a distinct absence of daytime talk show hosts.

According to Forbes Downey and his young friends are far from alone in their love for the patriotic superhero. Early box office numbers for Captain America sequel are promising and significantly higher than its 2011 predecessor.
