Wu Tang Clan frontman RZA has stated that the classic East Coast hip hop group has already received offers up to $5 million for their exclusive, secretive new album The Wu - Once Upon a Time in Shaolin.

Last week, Wu Tang Clan announced that their new release had been recorded secretly over the course of six years. According to the album's official website, Once Upon a Time in Shaolin will not be made available digitally or in any other existing mass format.

RZA (born Robert Diggs) stated in an interview withBillboard that they have already been offered $5 million for the album.

The 31-track, 128-minute long album will be toured around the country in museums and galleries where audiences can pay to hear it. Dates and locations have not yet been announced. After the end of the tour, the album will be auctioned off.

The album's extravagant, one-of-a-kind release, which is meant to resemble the creation of artworks during the Renaissance, is a protest against "mass production and content saturation," which the group believes "have devalued both our experience of music and our ability to establish its value."
