Hawaii Five-0 star Scott Caan is set to replace Shia Labeouf in the Barry Levinson film Rock the Kasbah.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, who first reported the casting, Caan's character is a con-man who tricks the main character while in Kabul, Afghanistan. His character also has a partner who helps on cons and is played by Danny McBride.
Rock the Kasbah follows an over-the-hill rock manager, played by Bill Murray, who decides to do a USO tour of Afghanistan with his last remaining client. He eventually gets ditched and finds himself without any money or a passport. Murray's character does manage to find a lifeline in a young girl gifted with a beautiful voice who he enters into the singing competition Afghan Star.
Others cast in the film include Bruce Willis and Kate Hudson.
LaBeouf departed from the Levinson project late last week, but no reason has been given. The only thing known is that it was said to be an amicable decision by both the controversial actor and the film's producers.
