Sinister was a low budget Hollywood horror film that shocked audiences and brought in lots of dollars at the box office. The horror film made over $87 million worldwide and was created on a $3 million budget. Now a sequel is moving forward and Sinister 2 has found its director. Ciaran Foy, the British director behind Citadel has been picked to direct Sinister 2.

The announcement came via the official Twitter account Scott Derrickson, who directed the original horror film. The announcement was made on Thursday. Derrickson is still involved in the sequel as he is writing the script with C. Robert Cargill, who also worked on the original, The Hollywood Reporter added.

Ciaran is known for his work on several short films and his feature film Citadel.

Producing the scary sequel will be Jason Blum’s Blumhouse along with Derrickson. Executive producing the film are Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Charles Layton, as well as Xavier Marchand and Patrice Théroux of eOne, who is finance the feature film.

The movie will start production this July, The Wrap added.
