Starbucks apologizes to Baton Rouge teacher for satanic symbols drizzled on her latte
Swinging by Starbucks to get a daily coffee fix is a large part of the lives of many Americans, so Megan Pinion was a bit shocked when this time she received a latte with drizzled caramel syrup making up the mark of the devil.
The Baton Rouge teacher was utterly offended when she received two drinks with satanic pentagrams and the demonic numbers ‘666’ created beneath the latte foam. She took matters to Facebook by posting images of the drinks on Starbucks' page with an extensive comment.
“I unfortunately can't give the young man’s name who served it, because I was so appalled that I could not bring myself to look at him,” Pinion wrote on Facebook, according to The Louisiana Advertiser.
Pinion's biggest gripe with the situation was not the worker's religion or beliefs, but the lack of professionalism that was displayed. She firmly follows the Catholic religion but does not preach her beliefs to others, knowing that in this day and age, it is very easy to break ethics, Unfortunately, she was not treated in the same manner.
Starbucks responded quickly with a serious apology, as reported by Fox News.
“[Sunday] was the first we heard of it when she posted on our Facebook page,” Tom Kuhn, Starbucks social media spokesman, told The Advertiser. “We reached out to her through social media and apologized. We’re taking the complaint seriously. We’re not sure who served her or what kind of beverage it was. It looks kind of caramel-ish in the photos.”
Next time, pay attention to your foam art while getting a drink at Starbucks - it could cause some controversy.
