Anyone who loved Step Brothers will be happy to know that John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell will be back together again, this time for Border Guards. The film will be produced at Sony by Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions.

Jesse Armstrong, who was nominated for an Oscar for co-writing Armando Iannucci's In The Loop, will be writing the script, according to Deadline, which first reported the news. McKay, who is just coming off of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, is in talks to direct.

Variety notes that the plot centers on two friends (Ferrell and Reilly) who decide to protect the U.S.-Mexican border from illegal immigrants. But their mission goes badly when they end up on the wrong side of the border.

In addition to Step Brothers, the two paired up for Talledega Nights. Both films were directed by McKay and released by Sony. Ferrell, McKay and Kevin Messick are the producers on the new project.

Ferrell’s next films include Welcome To Me and Get Hard. Reilly has a part in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which opens on Aug. 1.
