A woman accused of killing her boyfriend with her stiletto shoe has been sentenced to life in prison.

Ana Trujillo, 45, was found guilty of stabbing Alf Stefan Andersson, 59, at least 25 times in the face and head with her 5 ½-inch heel.

According to the Associated Press, prosecutors believe that Trujillo attacked Andersson with her shoe during an argument after she had been out drinking.

Trujillo maintained through the trial that she was only defending herself when she hit Andersson with her shoe. The jury, however, did not believe that she was in danger for her life when she attacked.

ABC News reports that Trujillo will be eligible for parole when she’s 75.

Trujillo told ABC News back in January that she thinks Andersson loved her. She also maintained that when Andersson drank he was not the same person.

The jury reportedly only needed an hour to agree that Trujillo was guilty, but spoke together for five hours because they were having difficulty determining what her sentence should be.
